Hozan Tanii - Shigaraki

Hozan Tanii was born in Gojo-shi, Nara Prefecture in 1953 and graduated from Osaka University of Arts and Crafts in 1975.
He built his first kiln in Shigaraki in 1981 and then succeeded to the Tanikan kiln, which was opened around 1870, in 1983 after marrying the previous potter’s daughter.
